Students, please read this first. The lab takes a maximum of 1-2 students per year, and only over the summer: a 10-week placement between May and August. Places are funded through the T-CAIREM Summer Research Program and CREMS - in a given year we may run one route, the other, or both, depending entirely on the funding available from each source. That is the full extent of our student intake, and once that year’s places are filled we are unable to consider further requests until the next cycle. Dates, stipends and eligibility are set by those two programs, not by the lab, and are subject to change - please confirm the current timelines and deadlines on their pages before writing.
Thank you for your interest in the Stroke Innovation Lab (SiLab). Our lab assistant, Gemma, manages all incoming inquiries and will get back to you.
If you are applying for one of those summer places and you are a student with an interest in QI and experienced in research, or an engineering, CS, or MD student interested in clinical applications of machine learning in neurology, we would love to hear from you. Please say in your email which route you are applying through (T-CAIREM or CREMS) and which summer you are applying for.
If you are writing outside these windows: thank you for thinking of the lab - the interest is genuinely appreciated and every message is read. Please know that replies may be delayed. We are best placed to respond when an enquiry arrives during one of the funding cycles above, when there is a live opportunity to act on it.
