Congratulations Luke Zhang: T-CAIREM Summer 2026 Complete
Congratulations Luke Zhang: A Successful T-CAIREM Summer Internship
We are delighted to congratulate Luke Zhang on the successful completion of his summer internship with the lab as this year’s T-CAIREM Summer Research Award recipient. Luke joined us in Summer 2026 to work on Pal-MASA, our next phase of AI for Quality Improvement, extending ML-based voice analysis for dysphagia screening beyond stroke.
Great job on the presentation, Luke. It was a clear and thoughtful summary of a summer’s work, and it reflected both the technical depth and the clinical grounding that this kind of project demands. We look forward to sharing new findings from the results of Pal-MASA soon.
Luke was joined on this work by Dr. Emmanuel Adegunna, PGY5 Neurology Resident, who came onto Pal-MASA on July 1, 2026, at the start of his PGY5 year, as his senior resident research project. His clinical perspective on palliative care in stroke is central to shaping the direction of the work.
Thanks to T-CAIREM for their support as always. Their continued investment in student research at the University of Toronto makes projects like this possible, and we are grateful for the partnership.
